80's themed party

Wasn't sure whether to put this here or in Shopping but more people seem to go here so hopefully some of you can help! Anyway, I have an 80's themed fancy dress party to go to but I have no idea what to wear! I am a 24 year old female so if anyone has any suggestions please can you let me know?

i had an 80s themed party a few years ago and the best costume i saw was 4getmenots. She made herself a giant rubik cube out of a cardboard box and cut holes for her arms and head (box was open at bottom)
It even made a handy tray for her drinks and food lol

we also had a few people in 80s clothes, ra-ra skirts and coloured denim, as well as someone dressed as madonna.

There were so many looks, rock chick, new romantic, etc. Look at some videos of bands of that era on You Tube and see what takes your fancy.

Easy option was circa 1986 rock chick - black leather skirt, black tshirt, black lace tights, high black stilettos, black lacefingerless gloves, lots of eyeliner and REALLY big hair!

Only went and got put in shopping anyway!! AB has turned a bit strict, I originally put this in Body and Soul as more people go there!

why dont you try the flashdance/olivia newton-john/jamielee curtiss look with leggings or footless tights and legwarmers with a baggy t shirt,big belt around the waist, little shorts, BIG hair and a couple of sweatbands on the wrists The brighter and more clashing the better lol

Most of the shops, especially Topshop are full of eighties fashions at the moment as its very on trend. You could try the above answer but put on bright blue/purple eye makeup, and lots of plastic jewellery. bangles, beads, earrings, etc.

Shoulder pads a la dynasty. I went to an 80's do and got an outfit from a charity shop

What about the whole fame thing, sweatpants, leg warmers etc.

Other than that look towards the icons madonna, adam ant etc.

I was at one last year and one guy went as Duncan Goodhew ... shaved head, speedos and a gold medal .... quality !!
