Does any one know when I can buy those Doodle Art posters that you used to colour in, in nthe late 80's early 90's I cant find them anywhere. I really fancy a spot of colouring in. Childish I know but very relaxing. Kids colouring books are just a bit naff for me. TIA
Can't help you with Doodle Art...though thinking about it, have you tried Hobby Craft stores? Thought id tell you what i've recently latched on to to help relax....I do painting by numbers, they do some really intricate pictures now, and well worth a try if you can't get any Doodle Art pictures.
thanks Boo I dont fancy painting by numbers, I do card making and cross stitch but just really fancy some colouring. I will have a look in Hobby shops and see if they have any colouring for big kids. ;)
If you have a Wilkinson's store near you, they sell books of Doodle Art type patterns and things in the children's department - dead cheap, too - and the felt tips to go with them. there are some really good designs and patterns - not childish at all - the last book I got for my nieces was all like William Morris wallpaper patterns and Pop-art poster designs - groovy!
There's a chain of shops called The Works that sell Doodle Art books, I have also seen them in Woolworths, I used to do them years ago and I found it very relaxing too.
Once in awhile you can find the vintage ones on eBay but they usually go for a lot of money. I found these Red Farm Studio coloring books to be a pretty good substitute. You'll have to do a search for ones in UK, but US web is: http://www.greenacreworkshop.com/activity_main .cfm?cat=13
Good luck and if you find any other links, please post them as I love them too!!
Hello, I know that this is an old thread but I came across it looking for doodle art posters myself. Apparently the original publishers of Doodle art are online now but with only a few of their posters. The web site is http://www.doodleart.ca/main.htm but I also was at amazon.com and if you put in the word coloring book in the search you will get a bunch of dover pictoral books which are designed more for older children and adults. Since the pictures are back to back I would recommend scanning and printing or photo coping so you don't ruin the picture on the other side if you prefer to use markers. Also it makes it so you can color them more than once or use different color themes on the same picture. I hope this helps and enjoy.
YES! I decided to research this because all the YAHOO! answers were 3 or 4 years old & my kids have been bugging me to look for some for them, so here's an update on the Doodle Art posters from my research.
While researching, I found the original 50+ Doodle Art Posters are everywhere this Christmas it seems, you'll do better if you search by the poster name you're looking for....example when I searched "doodle art aquarium poster" there were a lot of specific results, especially in Google shopping. However if you search "doodle art international" it shows 320 results there this year from that one Company alone. I also found there's a lot of false "Doodle Art Posters" for sale in the results, almost all lead to incorrect listings for anything but the original posters you're looking for.
Yahoo results for "Doodle Art Aquarium poster" show a Doodle Art Blog from read-a-blog as #1 which contains a complete RSS feed that lead me to the doodle-art.us website.
Bing/MSN shows the Canadian site you referred to as #1, but 5 down is http://www.doodle-art.biz which links to the same site above.
I found lots of "Doodle Art Coloring Posters" videos on YouTube as well, there's 56 there today.
Hope this answers your question,
Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Coloring to all!
Michael
