Because Vodafone are offering me a really crappy upgrade and becuase i have been with them for 15 years, I want to move over to T-Moble (better phone and contract). But this will be my first time moving suppliers. Do I first cancel my contract with vodafone and then walk into carphone warehouse and get my new contract or the other way round?

Will vodafone charge me for cancelling? (18 month contract just expired) or is the contract cut off straightr away no penalties or payments??

Please help!

If your contract has just expired, there will be no charge for cancelling. You can just cancel the contract and then go wherever you like for a new one.

Have you tried telling Vodaphone what you want? I threatened to leave Orange 'cos they wouldn't let me have the upgrade phone I wanted for free - I threatened to leave and next minute it was being delivered the next day! They will also do it if you tell them you can get more minutes / texts etc elsewhere for less.
