im considering opening a fashion boutique in Hong Kong. where are the best shopping areas for top quality goods? the bond street etc of hong kong?

That�s a broad question. The most simple answer would be based upon where you define your interests. Are you interested in being on the island or are your interests in Kowloon? If it�s Kowloon, anything in the vicinity of the Peninsula Hotel, or across the street at the Intercontinental. If it�s on the island, then I�d say at or around the landmark, or even in the International Finance Centre Mall.

The challenge will always be what the rent rates are in conjunction with your product lines. It�s interesting to note that numerous jewellers acknowledge that they do a much better business by being based in hotels, where there�s a thriving trade between airline crew, business travellers and tourists.

But if you want to be part of the local economy and you�re serious about being located in the �big boys� playing ground area, then the places I�ve mentioned above are a good place to start.
