I Phone Price Reduction

I heard recently that Apple will be reducing the price of their Iphone soon, however cant find where I found the announcement now!
Has anyone else heard this or was I dreaming?

Apple have a big event next week called MacWorld Expo. This is when new products and announcements are made.

The main speech on 15th January, when all will be revealed.

I think this was just in the U.S. where the Iphone has been out for about 9 months now, the knocked $100.00 off the price (approx �50.00) in December.
