What To Wear To A Wedding?

I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks time. The service is late afternoon, and is at the same place as the reception/evening do (it's kind of an all in one thing). I'm female, though never wear skirts/dresses, so am wondering what to wear. There is no strict dress code as such. Any ideas of the type of thing I could wear? I'm abit clueless at the moment!

Thanks :o)

you can get some really nice trouser suits - not ones for work but for these kinds of functions, top it off with/without a hat and bob's your uncle (well dad in my case!")
Well as jack daniels says you can get some lovely trouser suits. But why not really dress up and wear a skirt or dress? It doesn't have to be short. Wearing something you don't normally wear can make you feel really special.
I agree re wearing something you don`t normally wear. The only thing about doing this is that you need to feel comfortable all day & you may not in something that`s "different" to you. I`d go for trousers of some kind if I was you.

Thanks for your replies!

I know what you mean about wearing something different to usual, but as beejaybee says, I think I'd rather wear something I feel comfortable in.

I was thinking about a nice trouser suit of some kind - any suggestions of what should I go for that won't make me look like I'm heading straight to the office though?
