can anyone recommend a good site for a dress that i can wear to a wedding - need to be on the larger size though (22/24)

how much time have you got ? try the QVC website and the Ideal World web site, though QVC quality is much better, they do all their stuff in Big Sizes.
Indigo Moon do lovely fancy jackets to put over a dress, just right for a wedding [ on QVC].
Then theres the Anne Harvey shops found in Malls and Jaques Vert in dept stores.
I would say keep away from Evans because you might find someone else in the same outfit at the wedding.
I need a big size but buy all my clothes in America whilst on holiday and always buy one "just in case" outfit -- in case I get invited somewhere really nice.

Try looking in the Mother of the Bride also in ladies clothingcategory on Ebay, you may find someone has been there before you and grab a bargain.
