Argos Delivery Driver
23 Answers
I am currently eight months pregnant and I recently ordered the Sailsbury cot set from Argos online. It included cot bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, changer (for top of chest of drawers) and mattress. The delivery drivers were due to deliver between 12-6 today but I got a phone call at 10.45 asking if they could deliver within the next 30 minutes as they were "ahead of schedule". I said that would be fine and they arrived within 20 minutes. There were six items all together and the first man asked "Where do you want these?" I said "Would you mind taking them upstairs please?" to which his response was both unexpected considering his question and appauling considering my situation. He gave a big huff and a moan and I said "Well you obviously aren't too pleased about that, just leave them there!" He then said "Well they're not heavy - this one is only 30kg!" 30kg! It says on the side to be handled by two people! My hustand is away until Friday afternoon so I've only managed to move the mattress and the changer top box. The others have got to stay in the middle of my kitchen until then! I am so annoyed, especially with being clearly heavily pregnant and it stating on the website that they will deliver to a room of your choice. Also they were ahead of schedule and would of only taken five minutes - it's only a small house! His attitude stunk. I've tried to email a complaint but its not going through. Do you think its worth writing a letter of complaint to them? Look forward to hearing your comments.

Yes Mrsjoeygreen thats appalling behaviour I''ll speak to the driver concerned.
Result: nothing will happen.
Best course of action would have been to ask the driver for his office number and then ring will he was there.
I wouldnt bother complaining

Hi All,
Well I sent my letter off to Argos and then last week I received a phone call from a manager at Argos apologising for what had happened. He was absolutely genuine and was sorry. He said that there was going to be an investigation into what happened. He did say that one of the reasons why they may have not taken the items upstairs was because they don't like to leaving the vehicle unattended and some other poor excuse, but he did also say that he thought they should have taken the cot upstairs for me. I was absolutely impressed with the phone call because he came across as very genuine and I also received 20 gift voucher through the post with a written apology a week later.
So ladies and gents - sometimes a letter does work!
