Don' t bother with any websites in China - go to your local market, or car boot.

Even some High Street shops have very cheap watches that come with a 12 month guarantee.

And no postage.

Cor, Ethel, that James guy really p155ed you off yesterday, didn't he?
I once got stung buying a Rolex on Ebay. Paid a fair amount for a second hand genuine watch, and what a huge surprise, when it arrived it had clearly never been near the Rolex factory in its little life.

It's not just yesterday - it has been relentless for weeks.

At first it was just weekends, but it has been daily for a while.

Thought I'd get in first for a change. :)
Elizabeth Duke at Argos do them for reasonable prices too.
Question Author
Oooh yes - so they do.

:)
is it true? theyve been removed?????
Question Author
Nothing today. :)

I have my answer at the ready too.
Whilst on the subject of Argos (can we mention that brand name on here) it is best to look out for their special offer leaflets of watches on sale. I paid less than 25 pounds for mine, and it was 50 new. Some of them are less than half price, so I would go there first.
Before going on holiday last year I bought a diver's watch in Lidl for 6.99. I looked on it as something disposable, and intended just to give it away at the end of the holiday. But I was so impressed with its time-keeping, I decided to continue wearing it. It keeps better time than a couple of watches I have that cost well over 200 each. And yes - it kept the water out. (At 30 metres, anyway!).

Hurrah!

I'm loving these cheap watch success stories. :)
I bought a Pulsar kinetic watch (Seiko made i think) for 60 from Argos, and its never skipped a beat
Here's what's on my wrist:

1.50 in the local charity shop. (Accurate to about one second per week).

Chris

Nice watch, Chris. :)

Keep all suggestions coming.
Question Author
And in your considered opinions, Buenchico and Octavius, are your watches better and cheaper than one you could have bought from a Chinese website that is pretending to be in Georgia, USA?
Hmm, do they sell Vacheron Constantins?
Sorry, Octavius but that link appears to be dead.

Is that meant to be a rhetorical question, Ethel? I think my answer should be self-evident!

Er, that's a 'yes', by the way ;-)

Question Author
I don't believe in the use of rhetoric on forums - I'd be talking to myself. :)

I'd fallen in to the trap of the typical GMtv show host and asked the question with the obvious answer.

*must do better*
I wasn't looking at the watch on Chris' wrist....I love a man with hairy arms!! beautiful....
:-)
This is similiar to mine:

but mine is all silver, and has number increments around the dial, apparently they are a Seiko company too

What happened to those plastic digital watches you could buy for 1? They seemed to go on forever, and had a handy little button to press to see it in the dark.

The batteries were 3 if I remember. :)
