I could understand 'to lose it all' or 'to loosen it all' But then, I am not English!
Duh!
It would be "lose". It means when someone loses everything they value, for example through poverty or dishonour.
Well, "dishonour" is not a word you hear a lot these days! Do explain, New Forester.
Well, Boyo dim da, we don't know that this is modern Western culture. For example it might come from an 18th century novel, or from Japan, or from some other culture where honour is or was highly prized. And surely honour is not wholly unknown even in modern Western culture? Where did you find the phrase, Lieschen?
hmmm, i would imagine it would have something to do with, gee i don't know, maybe; LOOSE IT ALL.
