I doubt that much will actually change when the 'closing down' sale starts tomorrow. The existing reductions will probably stay as they are, except where managers can see that some items are not selling quickly enough to clear all stock within the next fortnight or so.

Games/music.films etc will not appear in the "everything must go" sale, as the medai branch of Woolies is still operating. Apparently they supply a lot of places that sell media online. One I know of for sure is zavvi.
So that stuff is apparently all going to a central holding area, for distribution at normal price.
However, I will be in woolies tomorrow to but loads of chocolate, and to see if there are any good bargains on the kids clothes!!

I went into my local woolies on Monday ( where I worked 3 years ago) and the shelves were empty they only had years old tat form their (now empty) stockroom ,school clothing and sweets, all very sad , this time of year the stockroom was full to bursting of all the sale stuff coming in, loads of toys, even easter eggs would arrive just before xmas- they have been going down the pan for years,
and spending 98 million pounds refurbishing the stores into 10x10 format 5 or so years back when they KNEW they were in trouble was a complete waste of time, they should have spent the money getting in decent stock that people wanted to buy, and sorting out their direction.
end of an era, 25, 000 people out of work , all very very sad
