Many firms have made alternative arrangements for delivery.
Even if the reasons for this strike are settled though, at our office, for the first time ever, they are not making any plans to pay us for the extra work that will come. End result, we'll be working to our time, taking our breaks which we normally tag on at the end, and the end result will be chaos. Royal Mail management wanting us to work for nothing while they collect thousands in bonuses doesn't go down well.....
Martin Lewis (Money Saving Expert) was on GMTV a couple of weeks back saying that the strike affected letters only, not parcels. This doesn't sound right to me, is it?
Ebay have made arrangements for sellers to use couriers instead of Royal Mail and are including a 10% discount on couriers normal rates. Details are available on members MyEbay page
I've still been getting mail every day and on Friday last week placed an order with Amazon, both parcels were received this week. I think the delivery has been quicker that usual for some strange reason.
