Where can I buy a decently priced suit asap? I need to attend a funeral on monday and need a new suit but dont want to spend much. I remember Asda used to sell them? Is that still the case? What about Tesco? Do they look decent enough?

Yes, i think they both sell suits.

Have you thought of just buying trousers? especially if you already own a dark coat/jacket. As i can't imagine that you'll be warm enough to remove it during the service.
Asda, Tesco, Primark - might even be worth a look in a charity shop or two for a dark coat - then you could get away with shirt, tie and trousers. I am sure the person whos funeral it is wont be caring what you are wearing and his loved ones should appreciate that you have made the effort to go rather than ceck out what you are wearing. As long as you feel suitably respectable then you will be fine.
Ring around charity shops....ours has stocks of them @ £20+

Wear a suit, with black tie to respect the deceased.......keep up standards, please!
matalan?
I got an excellent suit from Asda for about £50

If I wore one regularly and needed it to be harder weraing, I would double my outlay and get a Next one.

However I only wear one for weddings and funerals.
tamborine - I agree standards are important, but in the economic climate, I wouldn't like to see someone get themselves into financial problems just to keep face. Not that I think that's what you were suggesting, I just think that in the grand scheme of things making the effort to go, clean and neat and tidy is more important than wearing the "right" thing. Soap, water and a shirt and tie are easily come by, a dark suit that you may not need otherwise, isn't.
Zakly annie, why I suggested buying just a pair of black/dark trousers, that he's more chance of wearing again.

I don't think it shows lack of respect if you're not suited at all, surely the respect is there if you're clean, tidy and more importantly showed up in the first place!
