i am a panyan pickle lover, but i cannot get the original panyan i remember from the 70's. it was a piccallili style, sweet and very nice.

although I can't imagine anyone actually wanting this revolting stuff to return. I remember from my childhood hard lumps of cauli and other unspeakable objects being lined up on the side of my plate.

You could be right about the Piccalilli - it really spoilt cold meat and fry up day!

Well I don't remember it, and have never heard of it until now but I want to try it.

Pan Yan!  Yes!! I am not alone - Monday was cold meat, fried potato and Pan Yan day - how I miss it.

I was born in 1955 and well remember running home from school for a Panyan sandwich. Not jam, not paste, it had to be Panyan.

BAXTERS make a pickle called "Albert's Victorian Chutney" and it is virtually identical in taste to Pan Yan. I fact, on a blind tasting, I doubt whether you could one from the other.
Its near enough to the original PanYan for me............................
