I have had some boxes of mixed hand creams, face creams etc. from Boots for Christmas. Do they take these boxes back without a receipt ? I am wondering, as they are toiletries. Thanks all.
Daffy is right, however although shops may not have a legal obligation to take the goods back, many do it as a good-will gesture particularly if it is clear that it is their own brand product.
Worth a go maybe?
Good luck!
boots are a bit funny when it comes to taking things like that back, even with a receipt.
i tried to return a mascara once, unopened, still in its packaging, seal unbroken, with a receipt as it was the wrong colour, they ummed and arred alot before finally offering me an exchange for the right one!
can you not pass them onto a friend or relative smurf? someone might be chuffed with them and put them to good use?
if not, i'll have em! lol
I took a perfume set back just before x-mas and they had no problem with me exchanging it for something else, but i did have a reciept. If you take them back without one they with probably only give you credit at the lowest price its been sold at and i think most gift sets are half price at the moment.
boots probably vary store by store. I bought a breast pump from a store 30 miles from home and it didnt work when i tried to use it.
I took it back to my local store for a refund and believe it or not the woman refused my refund on the grounds that they didnt sell them in that store and wouldnt be able to put it back on shelves. It took a while for her to understand that putting a used breast pump back on shelves wasnt a good idea anyway lol
i agree red why would they put it back on the shelf i hope you asked for the manager and explained it didnt work and it was unhygienic to put it back on the shelf as you had tried to use it,i mean no offence by that but i hope you know what i mean
By the way did you eventually get your money back ?
YES ! They gave me a credit to buy something else, no problems. They were a set of hand and foot creams (I have loads from Ikea, really large ones that will last a couple of years) and mens' facial stuff that hubbie doesn't use. Thanks all !
