Play.com selling second-hand goods?

i recently bought an electronics product from Play.com for a considerable sum, albeit a little cheaper than it sells for in shops. when it arrived in the post a couple of days later, the packaging was badly damaged and it soon became apparent that the product i'd bought - on the obvious assumption it was brand new - was second-hand. it had even come from a Refurb company. when i complained, they told me to send it back registered delivery if i hoped for a refund. there was no apology, and no offer to collect the product from me. and only after i spent good money on registered delivery did they tell me that they wouldn't refund my postage costs. Anyone else got Play.com experiences to tell. I certainly won't go near them again, ever.

play act as agents for people selling used items.

the prices will state a "new and used price" and you should check which it is youre buying.

I am quite shocked to hear this, as I order from Play.com quite alot and have no problems whatsoever.

Doubt you will have any problems returning item for a replacement.

I've been using play for the last 8 years and have never had a problem with any of their deliveries. Guessing you brought a playtrade (secondhand) item

I have nothing but praise for play. They once sent me a 8GB SD card instead of a 1GB! Nice.
