I have a pair of boots that I love, but the toes are going funny, what should I do.

they're comfy and it seems a shame to throw them away or just use them for mucking around in. BUT they have a suede effect fabric on the outside which is coming away at the toes.

What can I do, is there anything i could cover them with in perhaps a 'toe cap' shape? If so what material and colour do you suggest, and how. Also if I do, should I do the same material on maybe the heel or that thin strip that goes up the leg (on both sides) ??

Somewhere like Timpsons might be able to fix them for you (although I can't see what's actually wrong with them in that picture).

The grey bit is coming off of the boot (a bit on both of them) one's only a few millimitres and the others about a cm.
Try a drop of superglue, Molly.

DEN it's actually worn away a hole (not to my foot though) so there isn't enough material to cover all of the toe now.
I cant see anything wrong either.Just keep wearing them -those type of boots arent expensive to replace anyway.TBH no-one would even attempt the repairs you want done.
Question Author
That's why I wanted to do it myself. Hangon I'll try and take a pic of the toes.

http://i56.tinypic.com/30s8t4p.jpg - sorry not very clear but the lightings not very good.
you could paint them with waterproof acrylic paint...this would create a barrier an seal and strenghten them a bit...even paint the inside if possible, or put a patch on the inside to prevent the hole getting worse
Question Author
would to paint go 'nicely' onto the suedey material or look a mess though?
Just buy a new pair.
Biy a bit of matching or contrasting suedy fabric and stick in on over the top. Look on eBay for fabric or craft squares.
