Have seen Chanel necklace for sale on Internet site - not E Bay (bidding not an issue).
Seems good price, but how do I know it is genuine etc. Private seller says it is and comes wiith gift box. Haven't bought online from a personal seller before. Any guidelines you would offer for making such a purchase would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well, spelling Channel correctly would be a start. Caveat emptor.

Shall check the website suggested. Thank you. Don't think an assayer will be necessary - no precious metals involved.
Thank you all.
Are you able to zoom it in to see if there is a 'made in China, or Taiwan' on it? :-) Don't be to trusting; I once bought a red jade necklace which was supposed to be genuine jade. Turned out to be a good imitation.
