I am now on the Social Committee at work. 6 members and 5 decided they were too busy to deal with it this year as their job roles have shifted a bit so 5 new members were appointed... Apparently I was first choice. I was well chuffed. We had our meeting today and we have lots of cool ideas but I just wondered if anyone else could help?
Here are some of the ideas: * Traditional sports day (Egg and spoon, Sack racing, 3 legged race etc) *A pub night. Pub quiz, pool, darts, kareoke etc *BBQ *Bowling *Ice Skating *Pool party *Go karting day *Cooking course for the day ... I can't rememver the rest but there is loads. I am organising Augusts event which will be something that doesn't take much planning. We have our team away day in September... we are going to a huge hotel for a Mission Impossible kind of day and we are going on a mass treasure hunt. (Last year we did 'Its a Knock out'). Also our Christmas party needs lots of planning and we are thinking of a Monte Carlo type of evening in one of those huge Markees.. (Ok I can't spell that). (Last year we went to the OXO tower).
Does anyone have any ideas I could look into? We are going to attempt one main event a month and then little things like cake sales and stuff in between.
Lmao... Spock... we do work.. I promise.. well.. most of them do. I am a receptionist so I only have work when someone gives me work, which is kind of why I got given the social project coz I have the time to find things out. We have a tennis court down stairs and a breakfast bar near my desk which is covered in fruit and people just seem to stand there and chat to me all day! I have the most sociable desk in the office. I love my job!
We said No to paintballing as it's a bit of an obvious choice and the people here who have already done it.. didn't enjoy it much! We shall see what else we can come up with!
I'll email you something you could use, my mate works for a bank and is organising a team building galavant for him and his colleagues which I'm sure you could get your bosses to allow, will mean a weekend away but it will be worth it!
Thanks Skreech.
One of the other ideas we have had and everyone is seeming to like it, is booking cheap flights way in advance or booking the ferry and going to France for the day. I am excited about this one.
Go to france en route to my suggestion and you could clean up! We were getting cheap whisky at it last year and if you don't manage to shift much at least you'll not go thirsty for ages!
