Sorry, not too sure where the best place to post this one would be!!
Anyway, I live in Essex and want to do something on Bank Holiday Monday that: a) doesnt cost a fortune and b) is no more than an hour or so drivign away.
What can anyone suggest?

There is tropical wings (butterfly and insect type place)-south woodham
Promenade park - maldon (where I live)if you haven't been there for a while or ever take bucket and spade massive man made beach, splash park and wonderful wooden galleon adventure playground.
Marsh farm country park.
Southend, walton, clacton.Colchester zoo .Log on to national trust fro essex and they are doing nature walks for free pond dipping etc etc.
