army cadets!

i go to sea cadets and one of the two nights a week that i go, the army cadets are there to.

almost all the time they're outside even in rain and snow.

all we ever see them do is running running drill drill running occasionaly riflery a bit more running and drill and sometimes ropework which even the instructors are rubbish at. (are instructors watch them and critercise the army cadets instructors ropework)

does anyone know what else they do. i looked on the website and all the seem to do is exercise, drill, abit of ropework, camping, riflery and shouting.

You've just about summed it up, though you missed out the compass work and map-reading. Then, once they have their ''Cert A Part II'', they can join the army and are qualified to go straight to officer training!
Mind you, we never knew what the Sea Cadets did, apart from a bit of drill, learning the right way up for the Union Jack, and a bit of rowing up and down the harbour in whalers, carrying out what appeared to be curious ceremonial gestures with the oars!

-boating (sailing power canoeing/kayaking windsurfing offshore expeditions)
-seamanship
-cook/steward
-meteorology
-firstaid
-scubadiving
-join the band

and you can get badges for all of them and enters competitions for most

-artiliary training
-duke of edinburgh

which is a bit more than running running drill running drill riflery running drill running ropework running running dril and mapwork.

by the looks of things on this website they do a lot more than drills, and the other stuff you listed! maybe they do the boring stuff on the night you are there and the interesting stuff on another night?
