I found an old coin but I can't figure out what it actually is. It looks like Silver under the grime.
On the front , it has the image of a Queen facing to the left. Around the image the following is printed
REGINA. ELIZABET. D. G. ANG. FRA. ET.
On the reverse of the coin it is divided in quarters, with a shield in the centre. It looks like Lions on two quarters (Top right and bottom Left) and it looks like the Fleur de Lis on the other two quarters. Around the shield the following is printed MEVM. POSVI. DEVM. ADIV.
There is no date on the coin, unless some of the words make up a date.
I would be grateful for any information possible on this coin.

If you google the regina eliz etc bit you'll get some results and may find it there.

It's definitely an Elizabeth I coin. If it's silver sixpence is a possibility.

Thanks dzug. The coin is a Elizabethan one Shilling, valued @ approx $190. My coin is in much better condition than anything on display at York Coins.
