Silk Ribbon Embroidery
2 Answers
Hi,
I would like to take up this type of embroidery and wonder if there is anybody out there who does it and can recommend what good starter supplies are necessary. I have a good chart book.
Since I live in Denmark I shall be buying all my supplies via the internet in the UK so any tips on good sites will also be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I've used little flower pictures to make gift cards, having padded the flowers into a cut-out card - looks very good.
I use dupion silk [?] for most of my projects and YLI silk ribbon and chenille needles, according to the width of ribbon, all of which you should be able to find on the net.
I'll check back and see how you get on - good luck skz
ps I'm just taking up Mountmellick embroidery, teaching myself from a book which should be fun !!
