Why are my bin men so polite and chirpy just before christmas?

Maybe because it's the season of goodwill, and would you want to get up at 5am to sling stiking bins in the back of a lorry?

ha ha johntheplamf - I've been many things in my life but a bin man is not one of them - in fact over here we don't really have them.

Because they are about to break up for the festive season for two weeks - well in our area anyway!

Well we only have a collection every two weeks.At xmas are bin was overloaded with a bin bag sticking out of the wheelie bin,The bin man left it on the pavement ,Emptied the wheelie bin and then put the black bag from the pavement into the bin and went to walk off, until he noticed by the gate I had left a box with a dozen bottles of beer  and a note wishing them a happy xmas!!He then took the bag of rubbish and put it in the back of his lorry.And now they do that every 2 weeks.Who says bribery doesent work!!

one of my mates used to be a bin man and he used to be on �20ph on bank holidays and christmas. i'd be happy if i was on that sort of money. as for them taking rubbish from the pavement with or without a bribe, it doesn't happen round here.
