afaik Avon but it used to be in Somerset.
...oops, Avon is no longer apparently and Bristol seems to be its own separate county these days.

I was on the Argos website, and in one place it said Bristol, Avon.

On one of their receipts it says Bristol, Gloucestershire, so it set me thinking.

.. Just to add they are some lovely folk in Bristol, I only hope that you speak 'Alien' so you can understand them.
Here is the text of the 1373 Royal Charter in which King Edward III granted Bristol (formerly "situated partly In the county of Gloucester and partly in the county of Somerset") the status of county in its own right.

Mostly in Somerset but Gloucestershire may lay claim to part. Changed to: Bristol, Avon.
Pronounces `Bristle` I`m reliably informed!
It is definitely not in Avon, which does not exist anymore.
