Is it just me, or does anyone think that the new AB ed takes his/her job very seriously?  There are things I have said that I know that the old AB ed would not have removed.  Please don't get cross ed. . .I'm sure you're lovely

Well the old ed. was forever banning me and removing posts: the new one seems much more liberal - in the true meaning.
no I think that by and large New Ed is doing a decent evenhanded job
Agreed woofgang
...having said that I've just had my first banning of a question. What 'm a bit surprised by is that the question (About where from around the world AB'ers hail) was banned after six days in existence. I guess it was a bit chatty but I thought of reasonable interest. One of those tough line ball calls I guess. No hard feelings ED.
There you go Graemer, I think he has it in for you!  Incidently I have just posted a query on this in the suggestions box as Ed confused me earlier on. Lighten up eh ed.
....and I think it is quite funny that we can report an answer for being irrelevant.  That one made me giggle!  I should be banned for life then.  xxxedxxxxx
I also think the new Ed is doing a decent job, I've had less Q's and A's banned since he/she has taken over.

Yes the new editor is much more liberal. I had several posts banned before him/her and I dont know why!

well the new ed pulled mine after a couple days. all i want to know now is where did corbyloon go? nobody seems to know. help me find the corb!
I too think the new AB Ed is more lenient & seems to be doing okay.....
Allo, The Corb will find you!
Well I didn't know there was a new Ed, but last week I had a few probs with my postings and he/she responded very quickly and got it all sorted :-D  X
I've just checked my profile and found I have had a question banned. How do I find out which one? My memory is poor and I can never remember what I have done from one day to the next...
Although IAP and I have been chastised for chatting the Ed was very supportive when I was being cloned - and I think he, she, it is doing a very good job - but could maybe lighten up a wee bit.

No seriously, of course we all have a sense of humour and while we appreciate the sense of community that the AnswerBank has, we need to be mindful of why it is so different from mediocre sites.

We have a duty to existing users or new users. We lead by example and have to let people know that rules are in place for a reason. Chatty threads are very open to abuse, and with so many young users coming to the site, we will not subject them to it.

A lot of parents depend on this level of moderation, this is the same reason why we do not encourage personal contact information being exchanged. There are plenty of other websites out there for that purpose.

Users come here to exchange knowledge and we do not mind if it is done in a natural way. I know you all understand our standpoint.

Thanks for your attention.

Maybe it's just me then :(  The new ed "edited" some of my questions but s/he didn't change my question one bit :(

OWWWWWWW Ed, that one really hurt.  :0

Well said AB Ed!
Glossopswift, you could try clicking on Qs I have asked - the banned Q may still be there, visible only to you but marked Banned.
Thanks jno, a bit dopey there wasn't I? And the banned question? It was about rail travel through Manchester in the 1800s....???!!!
