Yes, thanks for asking. I fell asleep in an art gallery while watching a video about the artist. Apparently I snored as well according to highly amused friends.

Yes I fell asleep in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in Soho, just as the star, Blossom Deary was singing.  How I'll never know, as it was so noisy.
I once worked a stand at the Birmingham NEC (Bathrooms) and we closed at 4pm on friday and went for a drink, I got the train for Leeds at about 7pm and fell asleep, when I awoke to my embarrassment I had slept with my head in the lady's lap who was beside me for the last three hours.

To make matters worse I had missed my stop and had to get atrain back from York.

I fell asleep on a beach in Ibiza after some hard partying. Was woken by some loud snores - my own!!!

I have fallen asleep at the cinema and whilst watching a very odd version of Hamlet in a theatre - they released some nice-smelling pink smoke effect and I nodded right off!
I fell asleep in a german lesson at school, and was woken by the teacher slapping me round the head.

we have large depatrmental meetings at work and these are often held in our small cinema. they are often in the afternoon... the seats are so comfy... the voice is dragging on and on.... yep, i've fallen asleep in a meeting!

Just over 30 years ago, when we were not long wed, I took my wife to London for a long weekend.

On the Saturday we booked tickets at the Palladium to see Tommy Steele in 'Hans Christian Andersen', but beforehand we walked all the sights of the city and were on our toes for about 10 hours non stop. Having later changed we took our seats in the theatre where I promptly fell asleep and was woken up when it was time to leave, sorry Tommy.

I knew a police officer who fell asleep on a park bench at night.  He woke to find people walking past on their way to work.  Another fell asleep on a train in some London sidings and woke in Edinburgh.

Graemer, I fell asleep watching 'Star Wars, Episode 1' in a cinema in Erina Fair, near Gosford, NSW!  Did you hear me snoring?  My son was horrified and highly embarrassed!!!

Not an embarrassing place, but an embarrassing situation. Falling asleep when you're being spoken to as part of a class or audience is one thing; falling asleep when you're being spoken to in a one-to-one conversation is quite another. Yep, I've managed it.

Unfortunately, I was in a conversation with this girl at the time and actually fell asleep while she was in mid-sentence. I just couldn't stop myself. I don't think she was too impressed.
At my old job I fell asleep during my lunch break with my head on the table.  Unfortunately I was resting my head on my copy of The Guardian so when I woke up I had newsprint across my forehead.  Other than that I think my internal mechanisms stop me from falling alseep on public transport etc.

Littleoldme you must stay awake when talking to the Ed!

FP - i also fell asleep at the cinema whilst watching a Star Wars film. Sacrilege, apparently! oops..

Also, I frequently fall asleep at work. However, I often work at night, so i guess that's ok. *Don't tell the boss! :) *

Hi graemer!!

my desk - frequently.

Not me but my husband!

Years ago, I had made friends with a really nice neighbour & over a period of time, she invited us over for drinks & munchies.

My husband shook hands with her husband & we proceeded to chat. We soon realised that her husband was the most boring bloke you could have clapped eyes on, or listened to. All he talked about was decorating!

We tried to deviate from such a mundane subject for a Saturday night, but it kept creeping back to that. I was trying to hide my yawns, but my husband went one further & started to snore extremely loudly! I think they got the message & needless to say, we never met up again, except in the street!

Just to add to the Star Wars effect, in the early 80s (when I was "only" 18) I went to see a double bill of the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. I watched the first 20 mins then slept right through the rest of it ... my then boyfriend woke me up when it was time to leave.

Also, on a second date with my current boyfriend, we'd gone back to his to watch Gladiator (which admittedly I'd already seen). I fell asleep against him and dribbled over his arm !!!! .... at that point, absolutely no intimacy of any sort, not even a kiss had occurred .... mortifying .... but we're still together 4 years on, engaged, with house & baby daughter.

Ooh looky, I've been edited. I did wonder whether I'd get away with that - obviously not. Fair enough Ed, point taken :-)

It's a bit of a standing joke in our house about how easily and quickly I fall into a deep sleep. It's happended when friends have been over for dinner or at my in laws I always fall asleep after eating, Everyone is just used to me now!
