Sky on Holiday

The local mayor here in Ibiza owns a block of holiday apartments with pool, cafe and bar.  Now he wants to get Sky TV for the bar, his wife (the boss) says no.  Forget about the legality of it. Would it make you prefer to book a holiday if there was Sky available (for kids, footy or news),  No sarky comments about" when in Rome" etc. He wants to be able to prove that it is necessary.  Please comment.

Yeah I know vinny100_2 - one gets to know the style.

I would avoid it like the plague, but I never use the facilities on a complex of apartments.  It's probably a good idea for those that like footy, but not my cup of tea.

Sky TV certainly does tend to draw people into the bars.

net i know i'm early but i wont get a chance tommorow so

happy mothers day! @----->-----

I'm not actually sure, as we don't have it at home ourselves, but thinking outside the box, I reckon that the majority of tourists would prefer to have Sky TV than not.  The disadvantage that I see is that your hand is nearly being forced through so many options of viewing, but many people may like that, particularly the owner of the bar....

Dear Allo - I think Mothers Day was last Sunday - but many thanks all the same.
Mothers day last sunday?I hope your joking I thought it was back in march!!My mums going to kill me if Ive missed it.( :(
Mother's Day in the States is in May, Vinny and I believe ALLO is in the USA.  Don't worry you are saved from the wrath of Mum.

Mother's Day in Europe is the first Sunday in May!!!
yes i am from the usa! and mothers day is today. i didn't know our holidays weren't the same. you learn something new everyday!
Phew!!!

Our Mother's Day was definitely in March!

Personally, I don't use the facilities on site (apart from the pool sometimes) at a complex anyway and having Sky TV wouldn't be a decider for me as if I wanted to watch a fottie game, it's likely I would go to a footie pub.

I have been to Ibiza about 6 or 7 times before and would prefer to watch Sky TV in a sports bar than in the hotel if I was going to watch it at all.

Out of interest neti what do you do in Ibiza?

I don't do anything now.  I was a hippie teacher in a hippie school, but these days am a wife and mother of a teenage daughter. I am now so normal that one wouldn't look twice!!! Had a hectic life touring Europe at one point. I enjoy myself.

Sounds really interesting!

I am now just fantisizing about being near the beach myself.  Not sat in a crappy office yawning my head off....
