Similar character traits with the same name, but not similar if called by another form of that name i.e. shortened like Catherine=Cathy/Katy/Kate, David=Dave, Elizabeth=Liz, etc. and use of nickname as in Richard/Dick, Ted/Edward. For ex. I get on excellently with all Catherines (wonder why!) but don't hit it off at all with lasses, women or ladies called Cath. I have never gone as far as comparing the spelling of the name, i.e. Catherine w/ 'C' or 'K', Cathrin, Kathryn... Anyone notived anything there?
Richard - All the blokes called Richard I know are absolutely lovely, except one who's a complete fistmagnet.
Nigel - I would have thought Nigel Hawthorne was quite an interesting bloke. Ditto Nigel Planer. etc etc
Surely this is just crass stereotyping? You can't seriously believe a name given at a few weeks old can conceivably influence someone's character.

I personally don't believe - in fact I vehemently resent - the accusation that all Bens are uncontrollable.
