I adore & collect all these! I even have some living at the bottom of my garden too!

Do you read French? I ask because there is a beautiful (and interesting and informative) book:
"La grande Encyclop�die des Lutins"
text by Pierre Dubois
illustrations by Roland Sabatier
published October 1992 by Editions Ho�beke, Paris.
I know since then another encycloopedia has been issued, I think it's an encyclopedia of fairies. 

Sorry, lutin is French for elf.

thank you for the book. i do not read french but i hope to find an english version. there is so little available. thanks again..
I don't know if "La grande..." has ben translated but it contains masses of beautiful (I know I used the adjective before but it is so right for this book) illustrations that even if you don't understand French they make it worth a look at if you can get your hands on it.
Sorry to intervene iamkk - but I'm also going to look for an English version of this book too - so thank you Artful.
