Can anyone tell me what the traditional greeting would be? By that I mean how do you say hello etc in Thai?

Hello (also used to say 'goodbye') is Sawadee krup or Sawadee ka.

Krup is used by males as a polite form at the end of sentences (the "r" is almost silent)

Ka is used by females

Therefore, as a man, you should say Sawadee Krup.
