I was with my mate in Leeds train station about 20 odd years ago and we saw Limahl (singer in Kajagoogoo or whatever)  Anyway me being a punk I wasn't interested but my mate loved him.  She walked up to him (me dragging my heels in case my punk mates saw me) and very very politely said Hi are you Limahl?  The horrible sod hissed at her through his teeth and told her in no uncertain terms where to go and said he didn't want to be noticed.  I was furious so stood on a seat in a very very packed station and yelled at the top of my voice  'hey everyone, limahls over there'  then beat a hasty retreat.

for those of you too young to remember him, I suppose its on a par with a couple of teenage girls spotting someone from boyzone or whatever band is popular these days.

hee hee nice one.  So Limahl and Curtis if you are reading this 'shame on you both'

I met Joe Cole (Chelsea & England footballer, if you're not into footy) in Watford Gap service station. I asked him for his autograph and he duly obliged.

Not disappointing I know, but boy is he small.

BDW, almost every celeb I've met has been shorter than they appear on TV.  The only exception was the bloke who plays Marlon Dingle in Emmerdale - he's tall.

I've met a lot of celebs through my job and none of them have really disappointed me.  But Joan Collins does wear sunglasses indoors.

We didn't necessarily "worship" them, but my friend Mary and I were fans of the Monkees from the time they first hit the airwaves.  We were all of about six years old at the time, but she loved Micky, and Peter was my favorite.  We'd argue over who was the best for hours on end.  Eventually the Monkees faded from popularity.  But when they had their first resurgence of retro-popularity, in 1986, Mary and I went to their concert, and then headed over to their hotel in hopes of meeting them.  Micky Dolenz was out in the parking lot, meeting fans and signing autographs like a Boy Scout.  She got his signature and a photograph, and we ventured inside to the hotel bar.  We spied Peter Tork sitting at a table with some other people, and grabbed a table nearby.  While I was working up my courage to approach him, another fan walked up to the table and started talking to Peter.  Pete interrupted him and said:  "I need you to leave."  The fan stammered something about an autograph, and Peter continued sternly, "you don't understand - I'm here with friends, and I need you to leave RIGHT NOW."  The fan scurried away, and I scotched any plans to approach my now least-favorite Monkee.

The opposite was true for me - I had heard tales of Chris Evans and his legendary drinking sessions.

I first met him in 2001 through a friend of a friend, and was politely invited to a pub crawl led by the man himself.

Chris Evans can be accused of many things, some true, some not. What cannot be disputed is that the man's capacity for alcohol is, quite frankly, awesome.

I used to worship God when I was young and knew no better.  But then I met her and she was a monster.  Kept boasting about the  number of people she had slaughtered in floods, famines, droughts and  tsunamis.  Couldn't get away fast enough.
When I was about 16, I worked in an office operating a small switchboard. This chap used to ring up about twice a week to talk to my boss.  We got very friendly over the phone and started big time flirting.  He turned up at the office about 3 weeks later and he was old enough to be my dad.  Ugly as well.
