Sarcasm - A form of irony in which apparent praise conceals another, scornful meaning intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.

Irony is upper class (Blackadder), sarcasm is working class (Eastenders) rroffl.

One gets a laugh, the other, a slap.
