How bout, as an American, I start to bash England and the way your country is run and operated when the next bomb goes off over there and kills some of your fellow countrymen/women?? I will bring up all the things that I consider flaws in your country and express my opinion about your way of life, even though I do not live there....and do all this, mind you, in the wake of a horrible tragedy, where real people and places are suffering.
Sure, that makes tons of sense! *sarcasm*...I will tell you...since this has happened here and hit close to home for me...I have to begun to think that this UK AB site is not for me.
I don't think you'll remember me, or any of the other Americans on AB, having anything negative to say about your country when you suffered a tragedy (london bombings)...think about that!
sorry HAnn but in all honesty it's startling and bewildering to see a great nation caught out by bad weather like this, and people will ask questions - no doubt many Americans are doing the same. I think bernardo's question was a reasonable one - but not personally directed at you! (And I'm still not quite clear about the answer.) You needn't suppose from the tenor of some of the posts that Britain (or elsewhere) would cope any better, or that anyone in Britain imagines it would.
