Um, obviously not catching on here- what the devil is it?
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.

This is from F.A.Q www.geocaching.com    Im still none the wiser!!
No it won't, because I have never heard of it, and I have no idea what you are talking about.  What is a "cache"?
For bernado, a cache is a secret hoard.

Just had a look at the site, sounds like a brilliant idea.well done Dom tuk!!! this could really catch on.....dismiss it at your peril...(:)

not as good as sudoku but better than hula hoops
But a hoard of what?
umm...sounds thrilling.
I've done it quite a few times - a few years back when it first started and was still fairly basic: put the coordinates in your GPS press 'Go to' and follow the moving arrow until you find the buried box. So it was a bit boring and unchallenging. But now it's come on a bit: clues can be cryptic; one box can lead to another; there are 'sets' of caches to find, etc.

The boxes can contain anything: I remember Xmas decorations; CDs; CD-ROMs; books; a spanner; pens; jewellery; even a titanium watch in one cache. The rule is simple: you can take one object provided you leave one.
Wait, you're saying this involves Going Outside? Now why would I want to do a thing like that?
heavens, just send the butler jenstar.
Sounds cool.  How do I get started?  I have a GPS.  Just give me some coordinates!
Newtron - if you're serious, just go to the geocaching website. I think you enter your postcode to find the nearest caches to you.
