Cherie Blair and the queen

Is it true that Cherie Blair refuses to bow to the Queen?. Does not protocol dictate that she has to. Is she allowed to flout the rules like that?

Jno whats the difference between a bow and a curtsy...i really do not know. In any case would refraining from doing a bow (for whatever reason ) allow a curtsy without sacrificing the reasons for not doing the bow?

I believe that bowing or curtseying is now optional. I'm not likely to meet royalty but if I had to I wouldn't curtsey or 'bob' either.

Dom Tuk, as I recall from my days at the court of the Great Turk, bows involve gentlemen bending forward from the waist; curtseys involve ladies bending their knees a bit, one leg a foot or so behind the other. I have no idea whether Cherie's pride permits her to do either. She may of course expect the queen to bow to her.

As Cherie Blair is a Queens Counsel ( Legal barrister type thing ) it may have something to do with that.
