are the government going to introduce insurance disks on windscreens as well as tax discs to combat insurance frauds. i do know that they now have a data bank to confirm if you are insured just by checking your registration number
Slight problem, Boviner. It's the car that's taxed, so you can mark the car with a disc. However, it's the driver that is (should be!) insured, and then only for specific vehicles. How do you devise a disc for that? In the 1970s there was an oil crisis and petrol rationing was almost introduced. Ration coupons were issued, though never used. To obtain them you had to produce evidence of valid tax, which required valid insurance. There was an enormous sudden rush to get insurance and tax!
