To date, the most I have ever done to help the truly needy is to give a pathetic 2.00 per month to some charity I don't even know anything about. I'd like, instead, to donate a more substantial amount to wherever it will do the most good. I'm very ignorant and I'd be grateful for anyone's advice or opinions on the subject. Ideally I want to support a charity that aims to save as many lives as possible in the short term, whilst attempting to reverse population growth in those areas too poor to support more people. I just find it impossible to understand why people would choose to have children in these impoverished areas, knowing their child will be born into poverty. If there is any small way I, or anyone else, can help, through donations or otherwise, I would very much like to know.
