I was driving from Bridport to the M5, but through the Somerset levels to make a change, in the early nineties

and in a village in Somerset, only about 10 mi from the motorway, where there is a cross roads, but the way north is slightly offset (chicane), but instead of going North on my way, I stopped off left, and found a fifteenth century guildhall thing about two hundred metres along that road.

And being late at night I thought, oo I wonder what that is doing there. And I wandered around a bit. I heard later it had been restored.

And I cant remember the village's name, so I can';t go and see it again.

Can anyone in N Somerset help ? Thanks

This has been bugging me for around ten years

There's a Guildhall in Chard. Whether it's the one you want I've no idea. It houses the local tourist office
