Why on earth did people buy cockles off the cockleman that came into the pub, with his basket? The vinegar sent the beer flat, and tasted awful. Can you come up with one. :0>

I love pickled beetroot and tinned salmon sandwiches, and quite enjoy roast beetroot in a roasted veg thing. But one of our daughters in law makes a veg juice with it in, and it does indeed taste like mud.
