I must admit I don't remember anyone telling me Marc Bolan and Ray Winstone were from Homerton.
I still hate the place though and have never regretted moving out when I was eighteen. I'm going to have nightmares tonight!! :-)
I was born in Woking, which can claim:
Paul Weller
Rick Parfitt (Status Quo)
Brian Hooper (former Olympic pole vaulter)
Harry Hill (comedian, or not, depending on your point of view)
Martin Tyler (Sky Sports football commentator)
...erm...Bernie Flint (1970s Opportunity Knocks winner) - OK, I'm struggling now
Oh, and me, of course (world domination pending)

Sammy Snake's missed a few Stoke-on-Trent celebs - Captain Smith of the Titanic, rockers Slash (lived here as a child) and Lemmy (born here), Reginald Mitchell, inventor of the Spitfire, Dominic Cork, cricketer, Garth Crooks and Robbie Earl, TV footie pundits, Nick Hancock, TV presenter, Arnold Bennett, author, that'll do for now.
