Emigration to Canada

I am trying to decide on where to settle in Ontario. I spent over a month in October/November 2005 looking for work and generally getting a feel for the place ahead of my wife and kids coming out in May 2006. Can anyone offer any tips for a 50ish Brit looking for work in Cambridge, Guelph, Brampton, Mississauga - general area - on any particular agencies or organisations that could help?

I spend a bit of time over in Canada and all I can advise is to get to know the locals, I usually go over for 6 weeks at a time (My eldest brother lives there) and in my experience if they do not speak French then they are the most helpful & genuine people I have ever come across.
