I'm considering going to work abroad for a year, although i'm worried about going on my own and not knowing anyone in the country. I know lots of people relocate around the country and go to work abroad by themselves, and i was just wondering for those of you who have done it if going alone is a problem for meeting people and how you overcome it? Thanks in advance for any help.

i have just moved to south wales from birmingham to live with my fiancee. i was ok for the first week but then i started to feel realy homesick, missing my family and friends, and couldn't eat or sleep for 3 days. seems to have passed now though. talking to them on the phone or throught the computer helps and i am trying to get back to see them as often as possible.

i feel very lonely here at the moment, i have joined a new gym but no-one speaks to me as i am new, whereas down my old gym i new. just need time to settle down i guess

Do you have a job lined up? Because I am sure you will make lots of friends at work. If you dont have any dependants then you could always come back again if you didnt settle.

Follow your dreams and no regrets, Good luck.
