I want to suprise my fella with a valentines trip to either prague or amsterdam i have found hotels but can't seem to find some cheap flights I have tried bmi , easyjey , thomson , ryan air any ideas ??

Where do you want to fly from, and what do you consider "cheap"? I use bmibaby (their lower case, not mine) from Birmingham and, depending on the day you travel, you can go to Amsterdam for �2.99 + taxes (actually I have been for �0.99 + taxes). Prague is a bit more expensive - around 50-60 quid at the moment; Czech Airlines do it from �41, but you do have to be careful about choosing the day you fly to get this price. Their service is always good, though.
I think everyone else has had the same idea, thus all the cheapest tickets have long gone!
Although certainly not the busiest time - Valentine's is still a busy time for the airlines, especially with respect to short-haul weekend / short breaks. The cheapest ticket allocations were probably snapped up the moment they went on sale.
