Older people at bus stops (Part Two)

This thread reminds me of a story I heard about a friend, waiting at a bus station in a blizzard. Not a vehicle or body in sight, until a little old lady shuffled into view - the full monty - coat down to ankles, zip-up bag, zip-up boots, gloves, headscarf, bag held across chest in mittened hands, four feet tall.

The two of them stood in complete silence for forty minutes, still no sign of body or bus, and not a word exchanged until a bus hove slowly into view, drove up to their bus stop, and slowly drove past them, and out of the bus station without stopping.

My friend was somewhat amazed, and was thinking of something suitably sympathetic to say to the old dear. He didn't have to bother, as she drew herself up to her full four feet and said in voice with strength and volume that belied her age and size "Well, the f*c*ing b*st*rd!" and she stomped off, obviously sufficiently fueled by righteous anger to walk all the way home!

My mum now sees it as her duty to reprimand any bus driver who disrespects her and has now extended it to defending anyone else on the bus who she thinks has been disrespected by the bus driver.
I must admit that bus drivers round here do have to put up with a lot (students paying with 20 notes, vermin kids smoking draw and setting fire to the seats) but the nice ones are definitely in the minority.
I now hope that the bus driver is miserable when i get on the bus with my mum just so i can witness him being humiliated by a 65 year old women.
Hell have no fury like an old women on a bus!

So there is a use for a miserable bus driver.

My mum was scrutinised closely by the bus driver checking her face against her bus pass photo. Already on the bus was a Muslim lady . My Mum wonders how he verified her ?

Thanks andy-hughes this made me laugh, I sometimes go on the bus, and have waited half an hour, I hardly used the buses but easier than car to go to city , now have bus pass half fare agree with polar bear When I first got bus it was indeed an education the pushing in front of you, manners like shoe cleaning is rapidly disappearing, also in local paper been letters about buses and how there are often buggy's which take up six seats, this is true was three on bus and I stood there trying to get by and was expected to climb over as they had taken at least 8 seats told go to the back, I was also on a local bus and boys kicked the back of the seat, I had to move, none of this would have occurred when there was a bus conductor if there was an emergency on the bus the driver could do little to help, by the way did you friend wait for the next bus ?

LMAO - I like old people, they are fantasticly comedic and interesting.

It would shock me too though if that had come out of her mouth in front of me lol. Funny.
