1.000 Migrants Since Christmas Day
News1 min ago
I am trying to trace my great grandmother, she dissappeared (went back to London we think) in 1984 and it is possible that she is still alive. Every site we try for finding ancestors you either have to pay extortionate amounts or it just gives you a list of other people who are searching for the same name. Any idea where i can view birth/marriage or death certificates online for free or a small fee?

You CAN search the indexes to the birth marriages and deaths though. Most sites charge for this but at the moment it is free on www.ancestry.co.uk
It is just a surname searchable index though so if she remarried you wont find her death unless you know her new name.
