Had been tracking his GPS signals and it was obvious that he wasn't going anywhere near Manston in Kent.
He suddenly turned South and dived for a runway.
What happened?

Mr. Fossett was diverted from Kent to Bournemouth and has landed safely. He now holds the record for a non-stop flight having travelled 24987 miles. The reason for the diversion is not known to me.
I had heard through the day he had been having fuel problems. Perhaps they thought he just wouldn't make it to Kent.
