Does anyone have any interesting reasons for choosing their user names? Do tell, without giving away any personal information, of course.

Shall I be first then? Flirty by name, Flirty by nature, as the old saying goes! Although I've stopped flirting now ;-) And why 'ravenhair' ravenhair? Or is the answer obvious?! :-) Hope to meet you to find out!

Mine is rather boring I'm afraid, it is the name of the avenue we live on.
I've had this one for about 25 years when CB was illegal and a lot more fun, they were called "handles" and I was given this one cos its to do with my work
I normally use either my snowboard or my car - the car won this time (wot a typical bloke thing to use eh!)
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin!
My user name sounds fast, sporty ,ready for anything! The truth is I had my photograph taken in a group of people for a local newspaper I watched the photographer write down my name and I thought at the time ' I wonder how he can understand his own writing 'and when my picture and name appeared as Noel Quattro I realised that he could'nt understand his own writing as my name is as far from his interpretation as a Quattro is from a wheelbarrow.

If xyzzyplugh is reading this, did you get your user name from a sim fanatic website? Because I remember a cheat code with that in it. It may sound weird, but it's true! I got my user name from my guinea pigs, Betty and Wilma.
my username, thanx for asking, comes from a clue in the first adventure game I played, in 1981. It was Colossal Caves. I think it was 'the first' computer adventure, written by 'Will Crowther' it was a text only game and fascinating. Still obtainable see; http://www.rickadams.org/adventure/c_xyzzy.html
My story is very boring. The name just popped into my head and I thought it sounded good. It doesn't mean anything. See, told you it was boring. (PS to xyzzyplugh, I always thought the very first adventure was just one called 'Adventure'. Mind you, I don't know much about the early days of adventuring, so I'm probably wrong!)
They are one and the same game Waterwolf, see url;
Mine must be the most boring and uneventful of all - it's my name!
i have a constant runny nose, which produces loads of snot. my missus started calling me "a little snotmonkey" when i needed an e-mail address snotmonkey fitted the bill and i have used it ever since. i thank you.
My real name is Gareth but a guy I worked with called Joe who came from Malta used it pronounce it Garut, every body else used it and over time it became Rut and then The Rut.

Great answers, everyone, cheers for that. Surprisingly, I don't have jet-black hair, although for many years I did, hence the nickname Raven. I think the first user name I ever needed had to be more than five letters, so I stuck the "hair" bit on. I have now mellowed in my old age to very dark brown hair. No Book of Spells, TW, but I do have a black cat . . .
mine comes from my mum and dad, mr and mrs bobley, who thought it would be really funny to call their son bob. god, parents can be cruel...

actually its just a silly thing from school quite a few years back, whose actual origins have been long forgotten.

I use mine because I'm a wizard and like casting spells.
I'm a big Trek fan, especially Bill.
