I will be traveling back from Devon next Sunday and would like any suggestions on things to do in the Somerset area. Last time I visited Cheddar Gorge, which is the kind of thing I am looking for. I I have been recommended Wookey Hole, anything else?

Anywhere that will wind away a couple of hours - historical, picturesque or other.......

Thanks in advance!

Glastonbury. Obviously a bit more exciting when the festivals on but very pretty village and the tor is well worth a climb.

Westcountry la la la, westcountry la,la ,la

in case you hadn't guessed im from devon...

I agree, isca, Glastonbury. If you haven't the time or inclination (!!) to climb the Tor, there are plenty of mystical shops, and the Abbey to explore. There is also a decent and friendly fish and chip restaurant.

Wells Cathedral; Bristol Shire Horse Centre; the Mulberry factory visitor centre; Clarks Shopping Village for the necessary things in life; the City of Bath - cathedral, Pultney Bridge, shops, river walks - use the park and ride scheme to get to the centre; the Bookbarn at Paulton - millions of books to browse through and rediscover; Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust visitor centre;

Oh, that bloke up a tree in Shepton Mallett, Somerset thats stopping Tescos from devloping a site should be worth a look in as well....

miggymoo, looks as though you will need more than a couple of hours. Enjoy.
