In classical Greek, the word 'polygamos' just means 'often married', with no suggestion of illegality. Of course, in Western society now, having more than one wife/husband at one time is forbidden. However, there are societies which do permit it, eg the Muslims permit a man to have four wives...but not vice versa!

So, to distinguish it from 'polygamous' - which normally covers the multi-marriage idea, you can use 'polygamic' for the situation you describe. I suppose you could even call someone who enjoys doing this a 'polygamophile'.

I forgot to add the key word in my earlier answer! The actual name for such a person is 'polygamist' - in its original meaning. 'Polygamous' and 'polygamic' are the adjectives you would use to describe him/her.
